Biography
My work focuses on the corporeal interplays between humans and nonhumans as an ethnographic angle to study processes of ecologic transformation. Since 2006 I conduct fieldwork in lower-Amazonian ribeirinho and quilombola communities, and more recently also on peri-urban 'wild boars' of Barcelona (since 2017). Most of my publications are situated at the intersection between environmental anthropology, the anthropology of the body and multi-species ethnography.
Besides my lecturer assignments at the University of Vienna, I have been postdoc researcher at the University of Rostock (Germany), Charles University/CEFRES (Prague), and since 2019 at the Department of Social Anthropology of the University of Barcelona.
